Summer softball tournament planned for July 16

MARFA – The family of George H. Lujan plans a co-ed softball tournament on July 16 at Coffield Park.

Mr. Lujan died in December 2010, a victim of pulmonary fibrosis. The tournament will be held in his memory with all proceeds donated to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

FORT STOCKTON – The small but mighty Shorthorn girls’ basketball team lost in the bi-district round of playoffs Tuesday.

“The good guys lost,” Coach Steven Hayes sighed on Tuesday.
