Photo: Marfa man awarded for duties during Rock House Fire

Marfa’s Guillermo “Willie” Hernandez” was recognized by the U.S. Forest Service for his outstanding duties in battling the Rock House Fire. Hernandez operated bulldozers, supporting forest service firefighters in suppressing the flames that burned much of Jeff Davis County. Hernandez was granted the “Cherokee Hotshots Certificate of Appreciation” by the forest service.

In a video posted on West Texas and San Antonio Congressman Francisco Canseco’s youtube channel, the congressman speaks on Fox New’s Power Play program about cross-border violence and border security. Canseco recently filed legislation that would create a federal definition of the term “cross-border violence.” Below is the Fox News interview with Canseco.
