ALPINE —Many of you rallied recently to show your support for AMTRAK. Thank you from the Alpine Big Bend ‘Save Amtrak’ team.
Now, it’s time to act again!
The White House 2018 AMTRAK proposed budget threatens to cut all passenger long-distance rail service in Texas and 22 other States, closing 220 railroad stations, including Alpine.
Please come to a letter-writing campaign to Texas lawmakers to protest these federal budget cuts, on Monday, July 10, between 10:30am and 1:30pm.
Join us at Unitarian Universalists of the Big Bend, 1308 5th St. Alpine. Write your own letters or use the examples provided.
Feel free to share your own personal memories and experiences. We will supply addressed envelopes, stamps, pens and stationery, or bring your own.
If you are in a rush, you may take a pre-assembled letter-writing kit with you. Consider hosting a letter-writing event. This is a community effort. Your continuing support is important. Help Save Amtrak!
