MARFA – Alpine artists J.R. Smith and Jay Davis have an exhibit at Building 98 in Marfa, and a reception for the artists is from 4-6pm this Saturday, July 15.
Smith is mainly known for his western images, but detours in this exhibit with some post-modern work. He debunks the myth that “cowboys can’t do abstract.”
The prolific Davis has close to 100 works in the Building 98 ballroom, which once was the officer’s club when Fort D. A. Russell was a World War II German POW camp.
The public is invited. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
