City of Alpine presents the 2017 #AlpineTXPhoto contest

ALPINE — Break out those cameras, the City of Alpine is pleased to present the 2017 #AlpineTXPhoto contest through September 30, 2017.
This is the seventh year for the annual contest, which has been renamed for the #AlpineTXPhoto hashtag which can be used to view dozens of previous contest photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Far West Texas residents and visitors are invited to participate and submit their photographs of Alpine, Texas. Local community members from the area are strongly encouraged to enter for a chance to showcase their talent and help in the promotional efforts of the City of Alpine. The online contest entry is already underway.
Entrants are asked to capture the city of Alpine in a personal, reflective way, bringing out the personality of the town. The contest offers five cash awards with a top prize of $500.
The photo contest will be judged by Terry Cockerham, a Dallas-based photographer whose work is currently featured in an exhibit at the Museum of the Big Bend titled “Big Bend and The Terlingua Project”. The show is on display through September 3.
The 2017 #AlpineTXPhoto Contest is free and open to the public. Entries will be accepted online until September 30, 2017. Those interested are invited to go to www.visitalpinetx.com/photocontest for more information, rules and details on entering the contest.
