Theatre of the Big Bend set for summer performances at Kokernot Outdoor Theatre
June 15th, 2017 under Arts
ALPINE — The Theatre of the Big Bend is entering its 52nd season this year, and we celebrate the continued support from the SRSU Theatre program and the greater Brewster County area. The first production this summer is ‘The 39 Steps’ adapted by Patrick Barlow, based on a novel written by John Buchan and the film by Alfred Hitchcock. Directed by Bret Scott, the original concept of the production uses only four actors for a large variety of roles; this requires lightning fast quick changes and sometimes multiple characters played at once. Following a plot line of a spy story with an underlying love story with plenty of puns and allusions, this concept results in a truly raucous comedy.
There is a preview dress rehearsal performance, open to the public June 16, which is free of charge.
Opening night is Saturday, June 17, 2017.
All performances are at 8:15pm at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre.
Run dates are: June 17, 18; June 23 through 25, and July 1, 2.
Ticket prices are $10 for Adults and $8 for children and seniors.
