Olivia Newton-John to reschedule Midland show
June 15th, 2017 under Arts
MIDLAND — There is great news to share today. Olivia Newton-John is happy to announce that she has rescheduled her concert at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center for October 1, 2017. The original date of the concert was June 11.
Newton-John postponed several of her summertime U.S. and Canada concert dates last week after the breast cancer survivor learned that her cancer had returned and metastasized to the sacrum. She shared with fans via social media her plans to complete natural wellness therapies and a short course of photon radiation therapy at her Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center in Melbourne, Australia. In an exclusive statement to People Magazine this week Newton-John shared her encouraging outlook on the situation. “I’m totally confident that my new journey will have a positive success story to inspire others! Love and light, Olivia.”
Newton-John has showed courage through cancer with her very public battle that began in 1992 and has fueled her efforts to raise awareness and research dollars to find a cure. Fans that have followed the singer’s career, spanning five decades, have shared their love and support and are looking forward to her return to the stage.
In support of Newton-John’s efforts to help others who are battling cancer, a portion of the proceeds from the October 1st performance will be donated to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center in Melbourne, Australia.
Tickets are currently on sale for her return performance on October 1 at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at wagnernoel.com . If you are holding a ticket to the postponed concert date of June 11, the ticket will be honored on October 1. For more information, contact the Wagner Noël box office at 432-552-4437.
