PRESIDIO, BIG BEND – The Big Bend Livestock Show Association announced this week six recipients of college scholarships, four from Alpine and one each from Fort Davis and Presidio.

Sesar Baeza, a 2017 Presidio High School graduate, received one of the BBLSA scholarships and recent 2017 Fort Davis High School graduate Emily Merrill was the winner of the first Amy Allen Memorial Scholarship.

The announcement also includes the first winner of one of the scholarships given annually by the BBLSA, one named to honor former BBLSA member and longtime educator Amy Allen, who grew up in Marfa and Alpine.

Winners of the six scholarships are Noah Wise, Mikayla Cross, Taylor Hunt and Carolina Prieto, all of Alpine and 2017 graduates of Alpine High School.
