Marfa Country Clinic to celebrate 7th anniversary on Friday
May 11th, 2017 under Community
MARFA — Marfa Country Clinic, its providers John Paul Schwartz D.O. and Don Culbertson PA-C and staff is inviting the community to an informal gathering to celebrate its 7th anniversary on Friday May 12 at 4 pm, in conjunction with the Prescription Shop’s health fair.
As it is reaching its seven-year itch, Marfa Country Clinic is prouder than ever to serve this community. We strive to work on a scale that resembles Marfa and its surrounding communities by being engaged locally, living and working amongst our patients and neighbors. Although the Marfa Country Clinic is a primary care clinic, Dr. Schwartz, Don Culbertson, and staff provide a variety of specialty care services to better serve our patients right here in town, and avoid the commitment and expense of an out-of-town referral whenever possible.
Marfa Country Clinic provides pediatric care, adult medicine, and health care for the elderly. We accept walk-in’s and are generally able to provide same day appointments for acute illnesses. We promote annual preventive care and manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiac conditions, arthritis and other neurologic conditions. Dr Schwartz is a Doctor of Osteopathy, which means he integrates rehabilitative osteopathic manipulations into his practice.
Marfa Country Clinic is a laboratory drawing facility and sends out specimens for testing daily.
We have an EKG and holter monitor to evaluate various cardiac conditions as well as an AED defibrillator for emergency resuscitation.
Spirometry testing is available to stage the level of pulmonary function, which is helpful in diagnosing and managing breathing problems.
We manage some injuries and provide wound care including sutures and casting, operating similarly to an urgent care facility.
Our providers perform dermatologic screenings for skin condition, biopsies, and removal of skin lesions including warts, cysts, and other growths.
We carry a selection of splints and braces, order orthopedic and other imaging studies, and provide joint injections, trigger point injections, and knee hylan injection therapy.
We offer food sensitivity testing, provide allergy injections, and IV vitamin therapy.
A mammogram coach comes to Marfa Country Clinic periodically for breast screening and bone density testing. Our clinic provides women’s health care including annual exams and contraceptive counseling.
Mental health care is sparse out here in these parts, while we are not mental health specialists, we provide a variety of mental health care services including testing and screening for various emotional states, we refer to local therapists or mental health providers.
We at times make home visits to our home-bound patients, and also provide health care for our local corrections facility.
Marfa Country clinic is enrolled with most commercial insurers, Medicare, and Medicaid (pediatric). The clinic has generous discounts available for those without insurance, no eligibility application required.
Regardless of the current and future state of healthcare policies, we remain dedicated to offer local and personalized health care to our community. Come by and visit the Prescription Shop health fair on Friday May 12th, and Marfa Country Clinic’s celebration from 4 to 6 pm.
Marfa Country Clinic, your country, your clinic.
