Area students take top places at district Wildlife Challenge

MARFA – Presidio County 4-H students received top placings in the District 6 4-H Wildlife Challenge held on Saturday, April 29 in Van Horn.

Presidio County had two intermediate age teams compete made up of Orly Holguin, Charlize Martinez, Nathan Pena, and Parker Skelton. First Place Intermediate Team was Skelton and Holguin. Second Place Team was Martinez and Pena. Presidio County also brought home top three individual placings by Skelton, Holguin and Martinez, respectfully.

The 4-H Wildlife Challenge covers material found within five 4-H Natural Resources projects; Wildlife Habitat Education, Hunting & Wildlife, Entomology, Forestry, and Sportfishing. Contestants have the opportunity to explore all five of these projects while preparing for the 4-H Wildlife Challenge.

All contestants will participate in Wildlife Challenge at the State 4-H Roundup held in College Station in June.
