Saul Jacob Miller, 90, of Fort Stockton was embraced by our Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 9, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Saul was born to John R. Miller and Elena Flores on August 30, 1926 in Marfa.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Korea. Saul married the love of his life Carmen Negrette on May 15, 1956 in Van Horn. Saul and Carmen were blessed with two beautiful daughters. Saul worked as a butcher for over 60 years before retiring to Fort Stockton.
Saul was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He had a great love of nature and all of God’s creatures.
He also took great pride in the legacy left by his grandfather Samuel R Miller, an immigrant from England, who made important contributions to the solid welfare and growth of West Texas.
Those left to cherish his loving and wonderful memories are his wife Carmen Negrette Miller; daughters Linda Miller Velez of Alamagordo NM, Kathy Miller Verela of Stow, OH; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Saul is preceded in death by his parents John and Elena Miller; brothers John Miller, Frank Miller, Samuel Miller, Adam Miller, Sandijo Miller; and sisters Helen Miller Aguilar, and Kate Miller.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton on Thursday, April 13 at 10am officiated by Scott Owen. Burial and military ceremony will be at Merced Cemetery on April 13 at 3pm in Marfa.
Services are entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton.
