El Cosmico hosts fundraiser for pipeline protesters April 21
April 13th, 2017 under Community
MARFA – There will be a TransPecos Pipeline Resistance Benefit at El Cosmico on Friday, April 21 hosted by La Abeja Herbs and El Cosmico with live music from Luke Redfield and Hotel Brotherhood.
Vendors will include Lovecraft Vintage and Fortress.
We’ll have food, we’ll have drinks, we’ll have an epic West Texas sunset – and most important of all, a good dose of solidarity and resistance. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to support the Water Protectors of the Two Rivers Camp – Stop Trans Pecos Pipeline – an indigenous-led group actively resisting the Trans-Pecos Pipeline. Suggested donation $5.
The Chihuahuan Desert is one of the three most biologically diverse arid regions in the world, and the pipeline threatens its pristine ecosystems and fragile ecology. We support the resistance of the Trans-Pecos pipeline, and we encourage our guests, as lovers of this wild terrain, to do the same. Please join our fight to protect the integrity of the Big Bend for future generations.
