Alpine Girl Scouts conduct community service project

ALPINE — Members of the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest Troop 28222 cleaned up the Dog Park located in Kokernot Park on April 6 as the final step to earning the Bronze Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can receive.

The girls formed a team, assigning different parts of the project to each member.

Hannah Vidal contacted Patsy Culver, treasurer of the Alpine Humane Society, asking if the Scouts could be of service. Hannah learned valuable skills about leadership and public speaking through her part in speaking with Patsy.

Adayna Garcia acted as group secretary.

All girls worked together to brainstorm and organize their project.
