DAR good citizen award goes to five area high school students

FAR WEST TEXAS – Five area high school seniors will receive the Daughters of The American Revolution Paisano Chapter Good Citizen Award at a Sunday function in Alpine.
Brandon Leos of Marfa, Jeremy I. Ramirez of Marathon, Emily Anne Merrill of Fort Davis, Jose Damian Villanueva of Big Bend High School, and Angelica Christina Rios of Alpine, their families and friends are cordially invited to the First Presbyterian Church of Alpine fellowship hall at 2:30pm Sunday, February 26.
The DAR Good Citizen Award and Scholarship Contest, created in 1934, is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.
This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities.
