NOTICE OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARFA

 

Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the City Council of Marfa will be held on the 13th day of September 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall of Marfa, located at 113 S. Highland Street, Marfa,Texas.

 

Open to the Public: The meeting will be open to the public at all times during which such subjects are discussed, considered or formally acted upon as required by Texas Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 of the Government Code. This Notice of a Regular Meeting and Agenda in detail was posted at least 72 hours prior to the beginning of said meeting in a location at City Hall readily accessible to the public at all times and at a place readily accessible to the public at all times at the meeting location.

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate to adopt Ordinance 16-05, adopting the Annual Budget of the City of Marfa 2014-2015 fiscal year beginning October 1, 2016 and ending September 30, 2017, including any changes that the city council considers warranted by the law or by the best interest if the municipal tax payers; and appropriating money to a sinking fund to pay interest and principal on the city’s indebtedness. Record vote.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate to ratify the property tax

increase reflected in the City of Marfa 2016-2017 Budget.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate to adopt Ordinance 16-06 levying ad valorem taxes for use and support of the municipal government of the City of Marfa, Texas for the 2016-2017 fiscal year; providing for apportioning a levy for maintenance and support of general government and a levy for the Interest and Sinking Fund; and, providing when taxes shall become due and when same shall become delinquent if not paid. Adopt fiscal year 2016-2017 tax rate of $0.44380 per $100 of taxable value, which is effectively a 7.97 percent increase in the tax rate, as set out in City of Marfa Ordinance No.16-06; record vote.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning bids to reconstruct

of Yale Street from Paris St. to Galveston St. and Galveston Street

from Yale St.to Hoover St. for TDA contract No. 7215320.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning bids to reconstruct

streets included in the Funded Austin Street Project.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning bids for material for

water line portion of the St. George Infrastructure Grant.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning requiring proposals

for Engineering and Administration Services for the 2017/2018 TDA

grant.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning bids for the Marfa

Convention Center Outdoor Project.

 

  1. Discussion with action as appropriate concerning proposed Solid

Waste/ Recycling Grant and Resolution 16-09.
