Trans Pecos pipeline opposition meeting April 8
March 26th, 2015 under Top Stories
ALPINE – The Big Bend Conservation Alliance will host a meeting to discuss the Trans Pecos pipeline at 6pm Wednesday, April 8 at the Alpine Public Library.
A massive high-pressure natural gas pipeline is to be built through the Big Bend to export fuel for Mexican power plants. The route it will take is unclear and the pipeline company has been vague in dealing with landowners.
Risks from leakage and explosions as well as noise, light, and air pollution from compressor stations and other concerns are mounting.
