Charles Bruce Colvin, 69, of Fort Davis, died April 23, 20-13 in Lubbock.
He was born July 10, 1943 in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of William Bear and Norma Lee Harold Colvin. His stepfather was W.M. Colvin.
Mr. Colvin was a graduate of Ellinwood High School and Colorado College. A Fort Davis resident the past nine years, he previously lived in Alpine, New York City, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Baltimore, Maryland.
He retired after 32 years as a professor in the Department of Art History and Design at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
Survivors include a sister, Lynn and husband Gary Huncovsky of Agenda; two aunts, Ruby Herold of Longmont, Colorado and Mitzi Colvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; an uncle, Don Herold of Wichita; a niece, Christine Huncovsky of Overland Park; a nephew, Todd (Amy) Huncovsky; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather.
Funeral service was the afternoon of Friday, May 3, in Barton County, Kansas with the Rev. Kasey Crobsy and Willie Dunlap officiating.
Kimple Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements, and memorials are suggested to the Ellinwood Public School and Library Foundation.
