Video: World champion glider maker visits Marfa

Sailplane manufacturer Tilo Holighaus visited Marfa recently to take in the big blue skies and world class thermals the area offers to glider pilot gurus. Holighaus’ company, Schempp-Hirth, located in southern Germany, unveiled their latest model, the Quintus, in early 2011. The Quintus, along with pilot Aboulin Laurent of France, won the 2012 World Gliding Championship in the Open Class in Uvalde this month.
