Slideshow: Viva Big Bend

They came, they played, they conquered, more than 50 Texas bands and musicians at multiple venues in Marfa and Alpine for the first Viva Big Bend music festival this past weekend. Organized and promoted by Texas Music magazine publisher Stewart Ramser, the four-day event was an unabashed hit. There was rock music, country and western music, folk, cow punk, and more, and locals and music tourists mingled like longtime friends. It’s on again for next year, and we can’t wait.
