Herbal cocktail workshop at El Cosmico

MARFA – Join El Cosmico for a special nightly herbal cocktail workshop July 16-21 from 6-8pm with Ashley North Compton.

Ashley is a designer and herbal mixologist from Baltimore who keeps bees, makes her own honey, and grows herbs that she uses for her concoctions. Explore the art of the cocktail, distill your own handmade bitters, and find out how to use culinary and medicinal herbal infusions to take your favorite libations to the next level. Cost is $15 per night, and no pre-registration is required, just come by El Cosmico July 16-21 at 6pm.

Here’s the nightly schedule:

Monday, July 16 – infusions class // infusing dried and fresh herbs, citrus and spices into vodka (take away 8oz vodka infusion & 1 cocktail included)

Tuesday, July 17 – bitters class // chose between woodland, citrus-fennel or floral bitters (take away 2oz bottle of handmade bitters & 1 cocktail included)

Wednesday, July 18 – spirits, tonics and simple syrups // exploring the sweet and refreshing elements in the cocktail equation. (2 cocktails included)

Thursday, July 19 – Gin-based cocktail // combine elements created in earlier classes to create 2 signature drinks (2 cocktails included)

Friday, July 20 – Scotch or Whiskey-based cocktail // combine bitters created in earlier classes (no prerequisite req’d), and utilize a tea-base to create 2 signature drinks (2 cocktails included)

Saturday, July 21 – Vodka-infusion-based cocktail // combine infusions created in earlier classes (no prerequisite req’d) with fresh juices to create 2 signature drinks (2 cocktails included)
