El Paso Ex-Horns set scholarship-drawing fundraiser
EL PASO, MARFA – The term “education has no boundaries” is alive and well, as demonstrated again by Marfa’s neighbor state representative Pete Gallego from Alpine.
Gallego, who is well known in his district for his commitment and dedication to enhance educational initiatives for young students, jumped on board this week to help the Ex-Marfa Shorthorns to raise scholarship funds for Marfa High School students. He is the sponsor of the 42” HD TV that will be given away during the Ex-Marfa Shorthorns & Friends Christmas dance on December 9 in the Sand Dunes Ballroom in El Paso.
The Ex-Marfa Shorthorns group is grateful for Gallego’s donation. According to Mando Uranga, “Love, care and concern for others is like a shelter tree, each year hundreds of friends support our scholarship fund raising initiatives.”
