Austin DIY duo at El Cosmico on the 4th
June 28th, 2012 under Arts
MARFA – The band Deep Time, formerly known as Yellow Fever, will play at El Cosmico on Marfa’s south side on Wednesday, July 4. Showtime is 8pm.
Deep Time will be performing songs from their new self-titled record to be released on July 10. The beloved Austin DIY duo have many fans, including Carrie Brownstein of the band Sleater Kinney and Wild Flag, and the TV show Portlandia. Frontwoman Jennifer (formerly of Voxtrot and the Carrots) plays guitar, organ, and sings with an idiosyncratic tenor. Adam unleashes complex, jazz-inflected drum patterns. Their overall sound is wholly unique—poppy, proggy, and with few sonic relatives (only the Dirty Projectors, Stereolab, and tUnE-yArDs come close).
