ALPINE – Cole Porter’s musical classic, “Anything Goes,” launches the 47th season of the Theatre of the Big Bend, with weekend performances June 22-July 8.

Show times are 8:15pm Friday-Sunday at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre in Alpine.  Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for seniors and children. A special holiday performance is scheduled Thursday, July 5.  Advanced tickets are on sale now at www.sulross.edu/theatre or by calling 888-722-SRSU.

Featuring famous Cole Porter hits such as, It’s DelovelyFriendship, I Get a Kick Out of You and the title song, Anything Goes, the Theatre of the Big Bend’s summer musical is a classic American spectacle the entire family will enjoy. Directed by Gregory M. Schwab and choreographed by Dona W. Roman, “Anything Goes” is filled with fun, mayhem, song and dance. Musical direction is by Donald Callen Freed and Chris Dobbins, and technical direction by guest artist Jeff Wisor.

The entire action takes place aboard the “S.S. American” sailing from New York to England. Among the passengers are beautiful American Heiress Hope Harcourt (played by Laura Ashley Anderson); her foppish British fiance Sir Evelyn Oakleigh (Timothy Wright) and Hope’s mother,  Mrs. Wadsworth T. Harcourt (Michelle Selk).
