Featuring famous Cole Porter hits such as, It’s Delovely, Friendship, I Get a Kick Out of You and the title song, Anything Goes, the Theatre of the Big Bend’s summer musical is a classic American spectacle the entire family will enjoy. Directed by Gregory M. Schwab and choreographed by Dona W. Roman, “Anything Goes” is filled with fun, mayhem, song and dance. Musical direction is by Donald Callen Freed and Chris Dobbins, and technical direction by guest artist Jeff Wisor.
The entire action takes place aboard the “S.S. American” sailing from New York to England. Among the passengers are beautiful American Heiress Hope Harcourt (played by Laura Ashley Anderson); her foppish British fiance Sir Evelyn Oakleigh (Timothy Wright) and Hope’s mother, Mrs. Wadsworth T. Next we meet Billy Crocker (Julian Johnson) who is, as he later admits, “a broken-down broker.” Billy has not planned to sail, but when he learns that Hope Harcourt (a dear friend) is planning to marry Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, he decides to stay aboard as a stowaway and somehow plan to break up the proposed marriage. Moonface Martin (Gregory Gonzales), Public Enemy Number 13 and his moll Bonnie (Ashley Page) are also on board.
