Thomas Joseph Probst, 57, of Fort Davis passed away at his residence on Friday, February 3, 2012.

Mr. Probst was born in Syracuse, New York on August 17, 1954. He had worked for several years with the Texas Department of Transportation. He had also worked as a commercial truck driver and had driven more than one million miles.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Barnes of Syracuse, New York; daughters Brianna Probst and Jordaine Probst, both of Syracuse; step-daughters Kimberly Gosnell of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Traci Jolly of Tahoka, Texas; sisters, Linda Moore of Syracuse, Starr Nicholas of  North Virginia, and Shannon Wicks of Lowville, New York; also seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce K. Probst, and his father, Donald Probst.

Visitation was the morning of Tuesday, February 7 at the Geeslin Chapel in Alpine followed with a graveside service in Hillcrest Cemetery in Fort Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be sent to Grand Companions Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
