Culver
William Bruce Culver, 89, of Alpine, passed from this life on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at his residence.
He was born in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1922. He attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In October 1943, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in the European theater.
He married Kathryn “Kay” Kreemer on April 6, 1957.
As a civilian employee, he worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon for 34 years. After retiring he moved to Alpine in 1989.
Bill was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an active member of the Lions Club, locally and at the district level. His interests included history, trains, and radios.
He is survived by his wife, Kay of Alpine; a brother, James Culver of Shartlesville, Pennsylvania; daughters, Nancy Cooper, Alice Vlad, Janet Brooks; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held the afternoon of Tuesday, February 7 at the First Presbyterian Church in Alpine. Burial will be later in Pennsylvania.
Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
