Camp
Douglas Camp, 62, was at home in Alpine when he fell asleep in death on January 31, 2012.
He had suffered three long years and was very tired, he bravely fought until his body was just too tired to fight anymore. Douglas was a force to be reckoned with in his life, in his early years he was deeply involved in the underground lifestyle and came to reason with himself turning his life around for the good. Douglas was one of the very few who beat heroin, his story is of a strength and bravery that is rarely seen, each of us possess but few of us choose to yield.
Douglas went on to help many others come out of the dark world of addiction, helping to save their lives by staying beside them until they too had the strength to stand alone. He is loved by too many to count.
Douglas believed in “true freedom” and his heart was “true.”
He is survived by his wife, Dawn Elizabeth Camp of Alpine; his beloved step-daughters, Melissa Isley, Jessica Boorse, and Danielle Dyer of Alpine; his beloved sons, Eric Camp of Reno, Nevada, and Doug A. Camp of Alpine; step-sons John M. Isley and Andrew Boorse of Alpine; his sisters, Melanie Briscoe of Pahrump, Nevada, and Cynthia Camp of Reno, Nevada; a brother, Victor Camp of Reno, Nevada; and two grandchildren, Garrett and Parker Camp of Reno, Nevada.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Alpine Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
