Big Bend Jazz Consort debut Saturday

ALPINE – At 7:30pm on Saturday, February 11, the Big Bend Jazz Consort, sponsored by the Big Bend Arts Council, will present its debut concert at the newly completed event center next to the Blue Water Natural Food Store south of Alpine on Highway 118.

The concert is free, with voluntary donations accepted in benefit of the new Alpine Public Library.

An elegant evening of contemporary jazz classics is planned, with romantic vocal stylings by Robin Campbell assisted by Peter Westfall, vocalist and guitarist .

Flutist Marilyne Dieckert and bass guitarist Dan Kirwan complete the jazz combo.  The program will include Latin jazz classics, featuring the works of legendary Brazilian composer, Antonio Carlos Jobim.

A wine and cheese reception will follow.
