26th annual Trappings of Texas opens Saturday
ALPINE – The Museum of the Big Bend’s 26th annual Trappings of Texas, where some of the nation’s best cowboy gear and fine western art will be on display and up for auction, opens Saturday.
Trappings is the longest-running event of its kind in the country.
Proceeds from Trappings of Texas, the museum’s only fundraiser, support future Trappings events and the museum’s exhibits and educational programs throughout the year.
Trappings sponsorships are still available. As an incentive, decorative Talavera pottery bowls will be used as gift baskets for the sponsors.
For more information on how to become a sponsor, contact Liz Jackson at 432.837.8143.
Donated art and gear will be auctioned at 10am Saturday at the public auction held at the Granada Theatre on E. Holland Avenue.
Doors will open for previewing, and early bids will be allowed.
