Four Buck Band students named to All Region Band

ALPINE – Six Alpine student musicians have been chosen for the Texas All Region Band.

They are junior Ashley Curtis, french horn; sophomore Deziah Ervin, contrabass clarinet; senior Zane Ivey, trumpet; and junior Autumn Ofenstein, clarinet.

Ofenstein and Ervin were also chosen for Texas All Area Band.

Two middle school students also were chosen for Junior High All Region Band: Greyson Lehman, tenor sax, seventh grade; and David Rodriguez, oboe, seventh grade.

Most middle school students were kept from the auditions because of bad weather on that day.

The students performed in concert Saturday, January 21, at Midland High School.

The All Region Bands represent the best musicians in all of West Texas with more than 800 students trying out for a position in the middle school and high school All Region Bands.
