Gabina Ramirez Jimenez, 84, passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at her Alpine residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Jimenez was born December 19, 1926 in Alpine to Selso and Matilde Cobos Ramirez. Gabina entered into marriage on December 30, 1947 in Fort Davis with Fred Jimenez Sr.
She worked as a waitress for many years at La Casita and other Alpine restaurants.
Mrs. Jimenez was a life-long resident of Alpine, a member of the Catholic Church, and was a Guadalupana. Gabina was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
Gabina is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jimenez Sr.; her son, Fred Jimenez Jr.; her parents, Selso and Matilde Ramirez; her sister, Lilia Rodriguez; and her brother, Celso Ramirez.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Valdez of San Antonio and Patsy Villarreal of Alpine; her two sons, Tony Jimenez and Bobby Jimenez, both of Alpine; her sister, Maria Garcia of Alpine; her brother, David Wright of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Rosary was recited at 7pm Monday, September 19 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10am Tuesday, September 20 at the church with Deacon Paul Lister officiating. Burial followed in Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers included Fred (Bisbi) Jimenez, Christopher Jimenez, Di Andra Garcia, Krystal Jimenez, Bobby Jimenez, Jr., and Mario Rodriguez.
Funeral services were by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton.
